Some gorgeous new footwear is making itself at home in my closet.
When I had surgery in June, one of my best friends got me a present. She's not the type to bring flowers...so she brought me these instead (and now you'll see why she is one of my best friends!)
Actually, her version had a lot of leopard print and less black (like the reverse base color / trim of this shoe), but I can't find a photo of that. I loved them, but sadly they were a little too tall for me. I don't mind a five inch heel, but these come out at 6.25" and I just felt a little off balance in them. My friend was fine with exchanging them, so I headed to Nordstrom and poked around the shoe department. After some deliberations, I took these home:
Still tall, still sassy, still leopard print, and a whole lot of "Hello, Gorgeous!" that I will be sure to enjoy on many occasions. :)
Just for fun, here are pics of the *other* pair I tried on.
The Sam Edelmans that almost won out:
I usually find that this brand runs small, but this style fit like a dream. The fabric on the two shoes was different though - the right shoe looked just like the photo above, but the left shoe had no black; it was brown and tan and kind of washed out looking. So they were a no go. And honestly the Via Spigas are more moi. I may consider the Edelmans in this beautiful beige suede, however:
I love suede. Loooooove it. It's high maintenance, and needs to be coddled - no inclement weather wearings! - but I am always drawn to the richness of it.
And suede is having its moment this season. Check back for a future post on the colorful shoes I'm considering for fall!
